Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. Her work has been released on over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk and alternative rock. But, they have influences of jazz hip hop punk, and funk. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco was born on the 23rd September 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who had the pleasure of meeting Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The mother of her is from Montreal and her father has Italian roots. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the song 32 Flavors. The song appeared on the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999.
